Open House 2024


VISITOR PARKING FOR OPEN HOUSE

  • Please do not park on grass areas or emergency lanes during OPEN HOUSE.

  • Visitors may access parking at the front faculty parking lot, the rear student parking lot, or nonemergency lanes.


STUDENT SCHEDULES FOR OPEN HOUSE

  • Student schedules will be available for viewing in the PARENT/STUDENT CAMPUS PORTAL prior to Open House.

  • IMPORTANT...for your convenience, take a screenshot of your schedule prior to arriving at OPEN HOUSE.

  • Students will be informed of their scheduled LUNCH time Monday 7/29/2024 during the first day of school.

  • Learn how to create a parent account in the Parent Portal to monitor grades and attendance HERE.

  • Learn how to set tardy, absence, and grade notifications in the Parent Portal HERE.

BELL SCHEDULE

  • Students may begin entering the building at 7:45 each day.

  • School begins at 8:15 AM.  Students arriving after the 8:15 bell must check in at the front office for a tardy pass.  An accumulation of tardies will result in consequences as outlined in the 2024-2025 Parent Information Guide and Student Code of Conduct (COMING SOON).

  • EHS Class Bell Schedule

  • NCCA students will depart from EHS after first period.

  • Stay connected by joining the EHS Class REMIND for each grade level.

REQUIRED CLINIC INFORMATION

  • During the first day of school, students will receive a BLUE NCS Clinic Card to be completed and returned to the first period teacher.

  • Complete the Check-out Authorization and Information Form (COMING SOON).

SCHOOL STORE 

  • The EHS School Store is located at the school entrance beside the Guidance Department and will be OPEN for students, parents, and visitors during OPEN HOUSE.


EHS STUDENT PARKING PASS

  • The process and links to obtain a student parking pass can be found HERE.

  • Students must fully complete the application and payment processes in order to receive a parking pass hang tag.

  • Please allow time for processing.  The EHS Bookkeeper will email your assigned parking space number to your school email account.

GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT


11TH GRADE IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS

  • All students enrolled or entering Newton County schools must be up to date on all mandatory vaccines to attend classes. Please be advised of the Georgia Department of Public Health requirements below for students entering the 11th grade.

  • Effective as of July 1, 2021, children 16 years of age and older, including those who are new entrants or transfers into a Georgia school in the eleventh grade, will be required to show proof of a booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine, unless their first dose was received on or after their sixteenth birthday.

  • The Newton County Schools Health Services Team will be hosting a vaccination clinic 3:00-5:00 PM THURSDAY, July 18th, at the Porter Performing Arts Center to offer the MCV vaccine which is required for upcoming 11th grade students.

ACADEMIC LETTERMAN CEREMONY

  • Students who earned a final course grade of 90 or higher for all 2023-2024 courses will receive an Academic Letter or Celebration Bar.

  • The Academic Letter Award Ceremony will be held Monday, August 5th in the EHS Auditorium.  (5:00 Sophomore CLASS OF 2027, 6:00 Junior CLASS OF 2026, & 7:00 Senior CLASS OF 2025)

A/B HONOR ROLL CEREMONY

  • Students who earned a final course grade of 80 or higher for all 2023-2024 courses will receive an A/B Honor Roll Certificate for recognition.

  • The A/B Honor Roll Ceremony will be held Monday, August 12th in the EHS Auditorium.  (5:00 Sophomore CLASS OF 2027, 6:00 Junior CLASS OF 2026, & 7:00 Senior CLASS OF 2025)


INFORMATION ABOUT ACT & SAT


ONE TO ONE TECHNOLOGY 

  • All students must complete a NCSS Student Technology Agreement to receive a device. 

  • A fully charged laptop device will be required for every student every day.
